Chiang Mai Temple Tours

What to bring

• Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a long-sleeved shirt, comfortable shoes, and a sun hat for protection and comfort during the tour.
• Carry a bottle of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
• Bring a camera or smartphone for photos, but be mindful of restrictions in sacred areas.

What’s not allowed

• Sleeveless tops, shorts, and skirts above the knee are not permitted inside Thai temples. Shoulders and knees must be covered.
• Shoes must be removed before entering the main chapel of any temple.
• Smoking, alcohol, and drugs are strictly prohibited during the tour and at all sites visited.
• Pets are not allowed on the tour.

Additional information

• The distance from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai is approximately 172 km one-way; please be prepared for a long drive of about 3 hours each way.
• Hotel pickup is provided between 7–7:45am; please be ready in the hotel lobby at your scheduled time.
• The tour operates in small groups of up to 12 participants for a more personalized experience.
• A set menu lunch is included; please inform your guide of any dietary restrictions in advance.
• Respectful behavior and dress are required at all temple sites.
• Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours in advance.

• Wear covered shoes, long pants, and ensure your shoulders are covered to comply with the temple dress code.

• Large bags, suitcases, and oversized luggage are not allowed; only a small bag is permitted for drop-off at Central Plaza in Chiang Rai.
• Entry to temples is not permitted without appropriate attire (covered shoulders, long pants, and covered shoes).

• Chiang Rai is a considerable drive from Chiang Mai; the tour duration is approximately 12 hours.
• Meet your tour guide at your hotel lobby at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time to avoid being considered a no-show.
• In the event of tour cancellation, you will be notified in advance and offered a different tour date, an alternative time, or a full refund.
• Admission fee for the optional visit to the Karen Long-neck tribe is not included and must be paid separately if you choose to participate.
